My baby girl is turning two and to celebrate we had a puppy dog party! My Wildflower LOVES dogs, she has two of her own so when we asked her what kind of birthday party she wanted to have, she said a dog party! It was fun to plan because this sassy little lady already has an opinion about everything so she helped me pick out a lot of the decorations and the food, of course! I always send out a picture for a party invitation and this year was no exception. The secret to these smiles after one billion out takes? They both had been
bribed encouraged with marshmallows! I added the paw-ty details right onto the picture and mailed out. I still do snail mail for party invitations and Christmas cards, because I’m a little or maybe a lot old fashion and I love mail.
We chose a dog party theme in yellow because I may be a little bias, but she looks pretty darn adorable in yellow! So everything was yellow and white! That handsome old man beside her is one of her inspirations for the party and such a good sport!
I ordered most of the decorations on Amazon Prime, because you know I’ve been a little busy with the strep plague of 2016 and who has the energy to run errands with children. We served The Wildflower’s favorite foods or at least a few of them. She’s a good eater so we could have had a feast! I used puppy cupcake toppers to serve the fruit, the little polka dotted cups were filled with marshmallows, we had popcorn, Chick Fil A nuggets, donut holes and these precious cookies were made by our local bakery, Sweet.
Aren’t they so cute! We loved them and the kids did too! They also did the vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and they melted in your mouth, they were so rich and creamy!
Cute and yummy, the kids gobbled them up! Speaking of kids, I found this fun idea on Pinterest and all of our little party go-ers were so excited to get to “adopt a puppy” to take home! The tiny stuffed puppies were also a cheap Amazon find! Did I mention I love when my supplies show up on my front door!
Everyone had such a great time. I did everything I could to distract myself with party planning and getting children healthy so I wouldn’t think about my baby girl turning two. My children’s birthdays are always so bittersweet. Birthdays for the second child seem to go by so so much faster. You can probably expect a mushy post up soon about saying goodbye to my baby. Boooo.
Some friends of mine made and gifted us this sweet “E” sign last year for her nursery so I utilized what we already had that would match our theme! I got flowers from the $4 isle at HEB because I will use any excuse to have fresh flowers in the house, one of my favorite things!
Everything turned out perfect and that which didn’t we improvised. Like my sweetheart’s beautiful sundress I bought off Etsy for the party. It’s been 80 degrees here in Texas for weeks until party day, then it was a high of 62. We added boots and a jean jacket and my little love was set!
I love to celebrate and what better reason than the life of my daughter. Holidays and having friends and family over is my jam, I love to host. But more than that, I super duper love to surprise my children. The look on my baby’s face when she woke up from her nap to the house decorated was priceless. Her exact words were “woah” and “wow”, I pray someone is always there to take her breath away. I am so thankful to all of our people who came, even from out of town to celebrate my littlest love. Happy 2nd Birthday sweetheart.
