Y’all Thanksgiving is in two weeks!! That means our kiddos are getting out of school in one week. Are you ready? I’m not, mostly because I host Thanksgiving in our home and I haven’t done my menu, grocery shopped or planned what the kids and I will do the week they have off yet! And all I can think about is how I haven’t started my Christmas shopping. Does anyone else feel like they’re missing something? Maybe like the reason for the season, which ironically is not supposed to be filled with stress and busyness. I might be failing this holiday season already.
Last night I got out our Thanksgiving books, and as I looked through them, I remembered why I love Thanksgiving. Besides the food, sometimes cold weather in Texas, and family, I absolutely love the meaning of Thanksgiving and the spirit of thankfulness it represents. I don’t want to get lost in the craziness of the holidays. I don’t want my children to have an exhausted and distracted mother. I want to teach them to be thankful every day, and Thanksgiving is the perfect time to cultivate a grateful heart in your children. These 15 Thanksgiving children’s books focus on being thankful and are a great way to spend your evenings snuggled up with your babes this November.
